Peter Bellamy lives in New York.  He primarily shoots portraits, as well as landscapes in both urban and wilderness environments.  In addition to his commissioned portraits, he has a fine art printing business for select photographers, including Elliott Erwitt. After graduation from Pratt Institute, where he majored in photography, he worked for Orson Welles and was Louise Bourgeois’s personal photographer for many years.   His projects include documentary portraits set in 1970’s Brooklyn; The Artist Project, Portraits of the Real Art World / New York Artists 1981-1990 (published 1991); Addict’s Damn (published 1995); wilderness photographs set in the North American west; and a current, ongoing playwright portrait project.
