My favorite place in the world is Wolverine Pass. I spent several days camped in this pass while I photographed in Kootenay National Park. Isolated, yet protected, this poacher's gateway into the park provided a place where I shed my tent and took off on day trips to photograph points further; leaving at dawn and returning at dusk.

In
2000. I hiked these ridges carrying camera, tent and food, It was steep and
windy and I sometimes had to crawl to keep from being blown off
the mountain. I enjoyed this kind
of excitement and sought locations that brought me closer to the great forces
of nature.
